The situation escalated when passengers discovered a worm in their food during the journey, leading to widespread outrage onboard. Passengers documented the incident by taking photographs and formally lodged complaints with the railway authorities. Responding swiftly, IRCTC initiated strict action against the food service provider. A user identified as Aditya Didwania shared his complaint on the social media platform X, stating that worms were found in his meal.
What further intensified the matter was the revelation that at least two similar incidents occurred in the same coach. Following this, several passengers chose to stop eating the provided meals. The food was supplied by M/S Brindavan Food Products (RK Group). Upon receiving the complaint, IRCTC took immediate cognizance and enforced stringent measures.
An IRCTC official stated that prompt action was taken in response to the incident. Deep cleaning and pest control measures were carried out in the affected area. The official emphasized that passenger safety and hygiene remain the highest priority.
The incident underscores ongoing concerns regarding food quality and hygiene standards on premium train services, highlighting the need for strict monitoring and accountability in railway catering operations.
